Giovanni B. Ramello is an Associate Professor of Industrial Economics, in the Institute of Public Policy and Public Choices POLIS, Dept. DiGSPES University of Eastern Piedmont. As well he is Chairman of the International Programme in Comparative Analysis of Institutions, Economics and Law – IEL at the Collegio Carlo Alberto, Torino. He is currently serving as co-editor of the European Journal of Law and Economics and section editor of the Encyclopedia of Law and Economics. His publications and research cover industrial organization, antitrust and regulation, intellectual property rights and market structure, information goods and knowledge production, class actions, liability and deterrence. He was President Elected for the Society for Economic Research on Copyright Issues, a board member of the Italian Society for Law and Economics (SIDE-ISLE), a member of the editorial board and Managing Editor of the European Journal of Comparative Economics, a member of the board of editors, Review of Economic Research on Copyright Issues, a member of the editorial board, Journal of Industrial and Business Economics, an advisor for the Forum of the Information Society, Italian Presidency of the Ministers' Council, Forum on The Economic Value of Intellectual Property, Ministry for Higher Education and Intellectual Property, United Kingdom, an advisor for the Federation of the Italian Universities, an advisor for the EU Phare-Twinning Project on the Harmonization of Antitrust in the European Countries, a consultant in Italian antitrust cases, and a member of the University Patent Board.
